Reading

  • Monday
    • Students will complete “Theme Practice” on Moby Max.
    • We will have an interactive read aloud of “Rosie Revere, Engineer,” and analyze the theme of the text.
    • Homework: Reading Log question 3
  • Tuesday
    • Students will take notes over plot structure.
    • As a class we will identify the parts of plot and theme in the interactive read aloud “Freedom Trip.”
      • Homework: Reading Log question 4
  • Wednesday
    • As a group, students will complete a plot mountain after readingĀ a short story.
      • Homework: Reading Log question 5, due tomorrow.
  • Thursday
    • Students will work independently to identify the part of plot in a short story on MobyMax.
      • Homework: Reading Log question 1
  • Friday
    • Students will be grouped and assigned guided reading texts.
    • We will learn CHAMPS expectations during guided reading. Students will learn what their responsibilities are in guided reading. In addition, they will learn how to participate and evaluate their participation using a self assessment rubric. We will role play and model guided reading as a class
      • Homework: Reading Log question 2

  • Monday
    • Students will complete writing stations and turn final draft of W.A.R. into Edmodo.
      • Homework if not completed in class.
  • Tuesday
    • Students will start a new writing about reading assignment, W.A.R. 2. Students will get to choose the prompt and text.
    • We will read aloud from “Out of My Mind”
  • Wednesday
    • Students will complete W.A.R. 2 outline.
    • We will read aloud from “Out of My Mind.”
  • Thursday
    • Students will complete W.A.R 2 Rough draft and start stations.
    • We will read aloud from “Out of My Mind.”
  • Friday
    • Students will complete stations and submit W.A.R. 2 final draft on Edmodo.
      • Homework if not completed in class.
