Monday

  • Students will complete “Excerpt Revisions and Edits” and turn in to Google Classroom

Tuesday

  • Students will complete “NaNoWriMo Showcase Slides,” and get it approved by Mrs. Kelley

Wednesday

  • The whole class will rehearse for NaNoWriMo showcase.

Thursday

  • Students will polish or make any last minute improvements to the showcase.

Friday

  • NaNoWriMo Showcase in the library. Parents are invited!

February 27- March 3 Lesson Plans

Reading

  • Monday
    • Students will continue analyzing debate of their choice with a partner.
  • Tuesday
    • Students will share out their findings to the class. They will explain the claim, support, counter argument, rebuttal and faulty reasoning.
    • Other groups will question their findings.
  • Wednesday
    • Students will complete faulty reasoning worksheet.
  • Thursday
    • Students will complete persuasive text analysis independently.
  • Friday
    • Students will take persuasive text quiz.
      • They will need to be able to use the definitions and examples from this week’s work.

English

  • This week students will complete editing and revising their expository essay.
  • Students will share them out to their class and publish them to their blog.

December 5-9 Lesson Plans

Reading

  • Students are finishing up their guided reading novels.
  • While working with their groups students will complete a plot analysis on their novel to determine how to best summarize the novel.
  • Students will work independently to write a short, plot summary of their novel.
  • Students will work with their group to organize and film a book talk to be shown to students next year. The videos will be used to help future students select guided reading material. Students will learn how to use a video making chrome extension WeVideo.

*Students books are different lengths, so they are finishing up and completing products are different rates.

  • Students are finishing their PBL this week.
    • They will put any final touches on their products and be sharing them throughout the week.
